Youth for Youth - World Youth Citizens Partnership

The Youth for Youth project supported by the World Youth Citizens based in Germany have been helping young people to go to school and even meet their basic necessities. After the support of five hundred euros by members of the Youth for Youth Germany headed by Miss. Hannah May and Katharina Kiatipi also from Karlsruhe Germany, we have been able to provide support to 65 youths in order to help them meet their basic educational support.

We have also been able to take along four youths now in total to participate in the annual conference of the World Youth Citizens called ‘Student Days’ in which we organized workshops in order to show our activities to young people from other countries and Germany and to see how we can get other young people to learn from our initiatives and get them to create a branch of our Youth for Youth Initiatives’ in order to help young people in Sierra Leone to be able to build their own capacities and not to take them of the use of drugs and violence as a means of meeting their basic needs.

Currently the Youth for Youth project exists in many countries like Sierra Leone, Togo, Ghana, Guinea, Senegal, Australia, South Corea, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Cambodia and South Africa and we are looking forward to having it operational in Scotland and England with the support of Peace Child International.

Internship are also part of our activities which enable us to build our capacities in order to create the required status of our project by way of helping to create the knowledge of young people of Sierra Leone about other countries and that of young people from other countries about Sierra Leone.

At the moment we are having an intern from Australia called Sharon Edington from the University of Queensland Brisbane. Previously we have had interns from U.S.A and Australia respectively.
