IDEA
With a One World AK we try to motivate young people in schools to found their own social, cultural, charitable projects or to take part in activities that already exist. The goal is, that everybody who has ideas, who wants to change something or who just wants to act, has the possibility to realise it through the One World AK. We have the dream that one day social work on schools will get easier and more effective, perhaps if more and more people on different schools in different cities take part and cooperate together. So we try to found a big One World AK platform and to create more consciousness for everything happening on the whole world.
REALISATION
In the One World AK we have already founded and realised lots of projects. For example:
Toilet’s newspaper:
Every pupil has the possibility to write a small text (one page) about the actual things happening in the city, in the country, on the planet, their opinion, to be critical, and to inform others about important things. When somebody writes a text, we put it on the walls in every toilet of the school, because we hope that the pupils have more time there and are relaxed enough to learn more than they already do in school. This toilet’s newapaper is the awareness raising part of our work.
Sales of fair-trade products:
A big part of our work is selling fair trade products in schools. We want to inform the pupils about the ecological way of nourishment and how they can help lots of people by buying these products. During their breaks, pupils can come to our stand in the school building for talking and/or buying things. Since we get our products from the One World and Fair Trade shops in our city we support them and help them to recieve more customers.
Sometimes we collect signatures for a project that we want to support, or money and things for victims of a tragical occurrence like the flood disaster in South East Asia.
We also support projects of World Youth Citizens, such as the Youth for Youth Project with Sierra Leone, the artisan project of Oswaldo in Peru and Aktion Völkerrecht/ International Law Campaign.
