Student Days "One World" 2004 in Karlsruhe

“It is not your fault that the world is what it is, it would only be your fault if it would stay as such.” Under this slogan of the famous German rock band “Die Äerzte”, the first Student Days “One World” have been held in Karlsruhe from 4th to 8th of October 2004.

In the facilities of the college of education of Karlsruhe, around 1.200 high-school students participated in 140 workshops about different countries and cultures, globalization, human rights and the protection of the environment. The Student Days were initiated and planned by an ad-hoc group of young people and organised in cooperation with the Local Agenda 21.

The Student Days served as a meeting point for the World Youth Citizens who founded the network during the 2nd World Congress of Youth. In Karlsruhe, they offered workshops and became friends with the local organising youth group.

In order to stay together and to realize other projects, the Student Days organizers founded a local WYC group as the youth branch of the Local Agenda 21 of Karlsruhe.

Many other Student Days should follow!
