Student Days 2006 in Karlsruhe "We are what we do"

The third edition of the “Schuelertage” from 9-13 October in Karlsruhe aimed on putting an emphasis on “more quality instead of quantity”. Instead of more than 1.200 participants as in the years before, around 600 high-school students took part in this year’s workshop programme.

Youth activists from India, Brazil, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Peru, Ireland, England, Scotland and Germany offered workshops such as: “Ecological Footprints”, “Ireland and young people”, “Indian classical Bharathnatyam dance”, “What to do in a West African Village?”, “The youth for youth project in Sierra Leone, “For a better Peru”, “Consumption, environment, economy”, “Art of communication”, “Brazil – problems, actions, solutions”, “Indonesia, people and movements”, “Greenpeace strategy”, “Jukuka”, “Forest, my shelter and food source”, “Workcamps – Peacing the World Together” and “Young art from South America”.

Parallely, the participants could juggle, play drums and visit exhibitions. During the whole week, a special workshop took place open-air: the painting of a tram with pictures about the theme “we are what we do”. A multicultural evening with food and dances from around the world completed this year’s programme.
